A request under the Freedom of Information Act to the Lancashire County Council for a list of mainstream primary and secondary schools in the county with facilities for the visually impaired drew the following response:
Having made relevant enquiries, I can inform you that Lancashire County Council do not have any specialist units for the education of visually impaired children. All our mainstream schools provide facilities for visually impaired pupils and a pupil would therefore attend the school of their choice.
