The VI services team leader at Leicester City Council has supplied the following information:

There are no VI Units in Leicester. All mainstream pupils with a visual impairment go to their local mainstream school. VI pupils have additional learning difficulties attend SLD/PMLD special schools. Advisory and specialist teaching support is provided by central team of 9 qualified peripatetic teachers of VI, a keyboard tutor an ICT technician and a  Specialist |Teaching Assistant. Resources such as Braille and large print books are made at no cost to schools by Specialist Resource Technicians in our Resource Centre. Specialist equipment is provided from central funds where necessary. .As the provision moves with the child no list of schools is provided, Instead contact the V.I.
